Corporate Disclosure

March 29th, 2007

Corporations today are under an immense amount of scrutiny on how they prepare their financials and report earnings and stock options. Because of the scandals that took place in early 2000 like Enron,  companies are held to a higher standard with the recent sarbanes oxley compliance regulations. Companies that tried to inflate share holder value through unethical means have paid dearly for their actions. Now there are new industries that are in existence to help companies monitor and stay in compliance with the new financial reporting requirements. There are still companies under investigation for their actions that have not come to court. The Qui Tam lawsuits have escalated due to the payments that a whistleblower now receives if they bring inappropriate actions to the attention og the government. So it is more important than ever for companies to understand where money is flowing and be able to account for all levels of spend.

Companies like q4websystems has developed software that can help companies create audit trails of all web publishings to help with corporate disclosures.

We have discussed several ways in which to increase your traffic and visibility of your blog. One of those being creating links to other websites that are similar in content. There are thousands of link directory exchanges where you can exchange links but you might end up on the 100th page of their website which is basically worthless. At Big Web Links Directory they are trying to change the game by allowing you to control where your link will end up on a particular page.  Instead of sorting listings by popularity, Page Rank, or alphabetically, the listings with Big Web Links are sorted by the contribution amount. This allows you the owner to control the fate of your link and assure higher traffic to your site.

And help us become who we’re trying to be”

Finding a Notary

March 12th, 2007

What a concept? A  mobile notary that will travel to your place of location instead of having to track one down through the yellow pages. We are relocating across the country and about to close on our house and my wife who is on the East coast needed to get a notary for a Power of Attorney and had drag our three kids out to the notary to get this document approved. Next time we are going to use this service to save time and frustration.

Basically a mobile notary is a commissioned notary in your state that will travel to your home or office to notarize such documents as wills, and mortgage documents.
