We just got our kids horse riding lessons for their birthday. It all started when we visited a local horse farm and the kids thought it was great to be able to pet and feed the horses that they wanted to come back ride the ponies. The owners were kind enough to point in the right direction to a local farmer who teaches riding lessons. We went out and looked at the equestrian apparel and required helmets that they would need to begin their riding lessons. We found out that a normal bike helmet would not be allowed and that we needed a certified horse back riding helmet in order to begin the lessons.
