Learn how to play guitar

November 30th, 2011

Ever since I was a little kid I have always wanted to learn how to play guitar. I had relatives that could play electric and acoustic guitars when we would get together with family, but for some reason I never took lessons. Now thanks to the internet and sites like JamPlay you can learn from experienced teachers on how to play chords and learn music. This is not some person that is sitting in their bedroom trying to show you how they play the latest chords from Cold Play. These are HD videos where you see both the strings and the chords that are being played so that you can learn the proper positioning of your hands and fingers for the specific notes. They have even developed an iPhone app that you can take with you so that you always have access to the latest lessons. Check them out today and start learning to play guitar and impress your friends.

Upgrade your bathroom

October 21st, 2011

There are numerous do it yourself shows where they show the average home owner how they can invest in their current home to increase the living space and value with minimal cost. The one area that seems to be the focus of most of the shows is the kitchen and bathroom because they happen to get the best return on your investment. The use of clawfoot tubs at bathsofdistinction can add a charming appeal to any master bath. Simple changes to expand the usable area and counter space can return a huge value for your investment.

A good nights sleep in a hotel

October 18th, 2011

Choosing your mattress will depend on your preference but also the support that you need. A bed that is to soft will cause bad posture and not provide the proper support needed to get a good nights sleep because you are constantly tossing and turning. One that is to stiff can cause you to wake up sore and unrested leading to a miserable day.I would also recommend looking into your sheets and covers because they can also contribute to a great nights sleep. If you have ever had the opportunity to sleep in a nice hotel and use a DreamEssentials.com white noise machines this can make for a unforgettable nights sleep.

The Move

October 8th, 2011

Guest post from: Constance Rodgers

When I first moved into this house I thought the repairs were going to be minor. I knew I’d have to paint and fix the www.home-alarm-systems.com security system and probably have someone come in and get the backyard ready but when that was all said and done it turned out there was a whole mess of new issues. The AC unit was on its last leg and the roof began to totally leak which was an expensive bummer, to say the least. The yard looked great but now we had termites and two very determined moles who were chewing the whole place up so that had to be dealt with quickly, too. I just had no idea owning my own place would be this much work but at the end of the day I know it’s going to be worth putting in to make this place great. There’s nothing like owning your home and I’m happy to say that I’m finally a homeowner in the neighborhood I’ve been dreaming about living in for a long time!

Your kids playground equipment

June 18th, 2011

The safety requirements that are now mandated for preschool playground equipment has really come along way. You will notice that the materials and design are made to create a more safe and enjoyable environment kids. Most facilities are required to have either mulch or recycled rubber materials underneath the playground equipment in order to lessen the chance of injury in the event of a fall. While all these safety measure are put in place this is no substitute for adult supervision.

I hate technology

May 25th, 2011

Post contributed by Leonard Phelps

I’m more into being outdoors than computers, but my son was just begging me to look into CLEAR WIRELESS INTERNET systemsSee, he’s an avid basketball player and fan and apparently our TV just won’t pick up most of the big games he’s bent on watching. Some of his friends at school told him that if you had fast internet you could literally stream the games from channels like ESPN while they were happening, so it was sort of like having all the good channels. I wasn’t totally sold since our dial up seemed to be working just fine but WOW. I can’t believe we lived this long without a fast internet connection at home! My son is over the moon because we got service just in time for the finals and I’m ecstatic because now doing my work and my online banking is easier than ever from the comfort of my home computer. I guess I should listen to David more often about things concerning technology since I’m a real ignoramus!

Where would you go camping

May 17th, 2011

If you just want to get away from it all, then I strongly suggest a trip to the mountains. I’m not sure how close of a trip this would be for your family. My home in North Georgia is a real close drive to the mountains in my area. Taking a one day trip or a weekend getaway to the Smokies in Tennessee is no problem for me. I even like the mountains in North Georgia and all of the beauty and silence they offer.

If you got the opportunity to pick which place you wanted to travel to for a summer vacation, which destination spot would you choose? Does the beach or mountains make the most sense for your taste and idea on what the perfect vacation is all about? For a family with small kids, they will usually pick the beach. You could just pack up your GoLite Backpacks for the family and just head to almost any camping site. This also saves you money, since the beach is free to do and more than likely there is a free pool your children can take advantage of too. A trip to the mountains doesn’t offer too many of the free things that kids like to do. You can take them fishing and swimming, but most of the other activities will cost you money. If I had kids, I would certainly put their interests above mine; when choosing where to go on a summer vacation.

Womens fashion in 2011

May 17th, 2011

I have noticed lately that womens fashion has become a bit more revealing and I am not talking about the belly shirts or pants that barely cover the mid-section. It appears that fish net stockings are making a come back as part of everyday wear which can present some interesting scenarios especially in the workplace. Leggings and other rocawear jeans can be found online at retailers like Man Alive where they offer a huge selection of womens fashions. The new fish net stockings coupled with the knee high boots remind of the late 1960′s and early 1970′s where there was a definite shift in fashion for women.
