Finding your new camcorder

August 10th, 2010

We recently had a chance to look over a site that offers camcorder reviews. What I like about the site is that organize the various digital camcorders into ratings so that you can see which ones are getting the better ratings. Then they provide an in depth look at the technical specs and pricing of each model. With HD recording becoming more popular you can easily over pay for a camcorder that does not offer the storage and ease of use that one model may have over another. With many of the HD camcorders they record directly to and hard drive or flash drive and you want to make sure that you are getting one with a large amount of memory to hold more movies that you shoot.

The battle for 3d gaming

July 25th, 2010

It appears based on the latest reports that the battle to provide consumers with 3D gaming is going to heat up this Fall. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 gaming systems will soon be offering users a total 3D gaming experience. The question will be which one will make it to market first and which gaming programmers will follow suit in order to provide the content. This new realm of gaming could help one of the top game makers grab a lion share of the market should they make it affordable and easy to upgrade for their current customers.

Protect your laptop

July 25th, 2010

One of the best decisions I made with the purchase of our new laptop was investing in a laptop warranty that will protect against accidental spills and breakage. This laptop warranty is different than having a service contract if you should have software or technical issues. With a laptop warranty from the Worth Have Group they help to insure against accidental spills, theft, and breakage. With the price of most laptops investing the extra $60-$70 per year will give you the extra piece of mind should something unfortunate happen.

Get your prepaid cell phone

March 27th, 2010

I was at the mall today with the family and noticed one of the music stores selling prepaid cell phones specifically equipped for MySpace. This has been something we have written about in the past. The company that can merge the social networking craze with mobile technology will have a very good niche to sell into. The next frontier will being able to easily blog about activity from your cell phone to provide instant news for the many bloggers that are online today. Cell phone companies are stepping up their connectivity speeds and they are all claiming to be number one in 3g speed so it is getting really tough to separate all the noise from the true benefits of each carrier.

Where to put your new TV

January 2nd, 2010

Do you consider yourself as someone that is living life or just watching it? I read a nice little quote the other day and thought it was an interesting perspective. It was someone saying that they didn’t watch tv because they would rather live life than to watch someone else living it. I have watched my share of television over the years, so I am guilty of watching other people live their lives. I don’t get to watch tv as much as I would like to these days and I stay here on the computer mostly. Even with the new plasma TV’s becoming more available replacing all of our tv’s is becoming more tempting. There are some great plasma mounts that allow you to put these TV’s on the wall where they look the best and do not take up a lot of floor space.

Be on your guard with your identity

December 18th, 2009

You want to be careful with your identity and take steps to insure that nobody will be causing you any financial nightmares. A service like Next Advisor can provide identity theft protection that can help protect your good name and credit. Having a third party looking after your identity is a good safe guard when it comes to protecting you from the thieves looking to get their hands on it. They will alert you to any strange charges you might receive from someone that has stolen your credit card number or just got a new credit card in your name. Identity theft is a crime on the rise and until the consumers start putting their foot down, these numbers will just continue to go up

Customize your gift

November 10th, 2009

If someone is buying you a gift this year from the technology sector, they are probably not going to get you what you really need. You may luck out and get something better, like a new laptop computer or that new version of Guitar Hero that has recently come out. It can be difficult to please someone with a tech gift and if your job is playing Santa, you might not want to make the choice your self.

I would suggest a gift card or maybe even a Custom usb drive with their name on it . If you get a gift card as a gift, it lets the person go to the store and buy what they really need and it makes your gift more useful. I hate giving gifts that I don’t think will get used or be appreciated. I’m not the type of person to give a small gift, just so I can be nice and look respectful.

Moving up to LCD

November 6th, 2009

Some of the new slim line LCD tvs are starting to catch the eye of the most fickle consumer and even those that have claimed that laptops can actually do just as well for picture quality. You can watch all your favorite movies and tv shows right from the screen of your laptops. The quality is excellent and after a few minutes you will even forget you are watching your favorite movie from a laptop screen. I like to watch sports and sometimes my satellite doesn’t show me certain sporting events in my area. I love the fact that I can get sporting events not local to my area on the World Wide Web and watch them from my computer. The picture quality is so good you will think you’re watching an LCD TV.

Grab your laptop

November 1st, 2009

The sale of laptops and netbooks have been on the rise this year as people are looking to upgrade and take advantage of mobile computing. This is creating a great selection of refurbished laptops that you can pick up for some great prices if you are looking to get one for your high school kid or just have another backup to your current laptop. With the recent introduction of Windows 7 this will make people rethink their current hardware and look to upgrade to take advantage of this new featured rich software.

Digital photo cards for Christmas

September 25th, 2009

Almost everyone I know has either sent or received photo holiday cards from friends and family. This more personal touch has been a way that we send updates to our families and friends through out the country and wishing them holiday cheer. This year should be no different, but for may the delivery of the cards. With the wide spread use of many social network sites you can now simply post your latest photos up for your friends and family to see without having to run down to the post office. While this may be OK for some I know that we will be sending along the hard copies of the photo cards to our family because the grandparents love to hang those pictures up for all to see during the holiday season.

The new Xbox

August 5th, 2009

Rumor has it that there is a new XBox gaming system on the horizon. This new updated version will pack more speed and storage than the current Xbox 360, offer the latest in HD movie viewing and will improve on the connected game play to take full advantages of the high speed connectivity and also high speed wireless. This has been expected as gaming companies are looking to expand their sales in not only the units but help to prop up their slowing game sales. The gaming community is a demanding group and if you are unable to produce any real advancements every 12-18 months then you may just lose them to the competitors.

Expanding online sites

May 12th, 2009

With all the online social media sites springing up and the explosion of Twitter there has been an expansion of servers in order to handle the growth in broadband traffic. There have been some critics that have started to express their concerns whether the online instant messaging craze is worth the additional bandwidth. Many companies are having to expand and upgrade their numerous KVM switch equipment in order to stay ahead of the growing wave of people who are getting online and using the social sites to interact with their friends and families to share pics, and videos and their daily activities. Content is growing by leaps and bounds and with no end in site.
